Job Description

Job title: Assistant Technical Authority – Outfit

Location: Glasgow (Frimley or Portsmouth may also be considered) – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £53,200 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Definition and configuration control of the Outfit elements of the design
  • Support the Zonal Review programme leading to final compartment approval
  • Support in the technical management of Suppliers reviewing key supplier engineering deliverables including design reviews
  • Lead on resolution of key Outfit issues
  • Identification and implementation of Lessons Learnt from other programmes
  • Technical risk assessment and mitigation – checking coherency across all engineering domains
  • Support the Technical Authority – Outfit in Authorising documentation and Outfit in achieving certification and classification

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Outfit design processes and inter-relationships
  • Understanding of Safety evaluation and legislation
  • Ability to manage and support specialist multi-discipline, multi-site teams interfacing with a wide range of providers and customers

Desirable:

  • Strong background in Marine Engineering Practices

Applicants should ideally be Degree qualified or have equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline. Applicants should be a Chartered Engineer or hold another equivalent professional registration with a relevant institution.
