BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate programme you will be required to attend your site a minimum of 3 days per week, across Stirling Square and Frimley. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

Salary £34,000 & £2,000 Welcome Bonus

Excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced FTSE 30 company secretarial team. This role will provide training on a wide range of core company secretarial activities, as well as an introduction to UK company law and corporate governance practices.

What you will be doing?
The Company Secretariat team assist with the administrative management of the listed company and its subsidiaries. The team play a key role in the communication between the board of directors, company shareholders, and senior leadership team, and work to ensure that the Company, its Directors and subsidiaries maintain high standards of corporate governance. In the role of Company Secretarial Graduate you will be working within the Company Secretarial team, part of the wider BAE Systems Legal function. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to build a foundation to your career, and work with a variety of stakeholder levels.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Form relationships with key stakeholders including Finance, ESG, HR, Treasury, Tax and Legal to support corporate governance projects.
  • Supporting the team during the preparation and delivery of the BAE Systems plc Annual Report and Accounts, which includes proofreading and drafting some sections.
  • Supporting the drafting and releasing of regulatory stock exchange announcements, and related notifications/submissions.
  • Help to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, listing regimes, corporate governance requirements and best practice.
  • Under the guidance of more senior members of the team, assist in the delivery of the BAE Group’s all-employee and executive share plans.
  • Maintaining the statutory records for the UK subsidiary companies on a global corporate database and timely filing of relevant documentation with Companies House.
  • Assistance with departmental projects and ad-hoc company projects.

Skills
As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s degree and be willing to pursue a professional qualification (Chartered Governance Institute).
