BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate programme you will be required to attend your site 3 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

What you will be doing

As a Graduate, working in Supply Chain enables you to take up a variety of roles to help ensure that to that we deliver the right products, at the right time and at the right cost to the required quality. Your role will be varied; ranging from undertaking supplier visits to a more analytical focus of developing procurement strategies.

The Supply Chain team is an important function in one of the world’s most exciting defence companies. We provide world-class sourcing, contract and supplier management capability to the Business Unit to deliver increased product or service quality, reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and enhance operating efficiencies without compromising quality, safety, health or the environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Through Life Cycle Management (LCM), plan, control, execute and monitor all in-scope transactional procurement and contracting activity with minimal supervision
  • Adapt approach to ensure that negotiations are concluded for an optimised business outcome
  • Manage Supplier risk, seek out, identify and deliver opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings
  • Record and report cost savings / cost avoidance and deliver ongoing cost analysis including Estimate at Completion (EAC) work and robust contract management feeding into the Control Account Management (CAM) structure
  • Undertake the continuous review of Supplier performance and development activities using business Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) to ensure requirements are met to secure improvements and inform future Procurement strategy
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to optimise engagement at all times
  • Maintain Procurement systems with quality, accurate information relating to the procurement activity and in accordance with the Document Management Policy and process

Skills

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, General Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Economics, Finance and Accounting, Supply Chain, Society Politics and policy and Business Management.
