About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity within the People Team to appoint a People Advisor on our flagship Screwfix contract, based at Lichfield on a full-time permanent basis.
Hours required; 08:00 - 16:00 however with flexibility. And there is a requirement for 4 days a week on site, and the option to work remotely 1 day per week.
How will you contribute?
- Working to ensure the provision of a high-quality People service to all stakeholders at the site.
- Supporting the People Manager and the wider team delivering the site people plan.
- Developing effective relationships with and supporting the management team with ER casework, providing generalist support and advice, ensuring all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Supporting large scale change projects and maintaining excellent relationships with the on-site employee forum.
- Playing an active role in absence control and retention ensuring contractual KPIs are achieved and maintained.
- Proactively facilitate and champion employee engagement, Diversity & Inclusion and communications initiatives across the site.
- Working collaboratively with, jointly line managing and developing a team of 1 direct report (People Assistant.)
- Responsibility for producing and reporting key people data and metrics to senior and customer stakeholders
- Minute take and provide first line ER advice to management in meetings, such as disciplinaries, investigations, grievances, suspension cases etc.
- Supporting the Site People Manager to ensure relevant management training is identified, sourced and delivered, promoting a culture of learning and development across site.
What will you bring?
- Must be able to demonstrate relevant experience dealing with complex ER issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Ideally CIPD qualified, however we are passionate about creating opportunities to support personal learning and development within this role.
- Able to apply high levels of common sense and logic to often delicate and complicated situations and therefore possess excellent listening and communication skills.
- Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of employment law.
- Excellent communication skills are essential (both written and verbal), as is the ability to interact with staff at all levels.
- Must be committed to providing a high quality and efficient service to support the operation, with a positive and proactive approach.
